ZEE5 App on iOS,Android Phones, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick and Chromecast

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) launched India's biggest digital entertainment destination, ZEE5 on 14th February, 2018 in Mumbai.


Mr. Amit Goenka, CEO, ZEE International and Z5 Global and Mr. Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, ZEEL unveiled the digital platform to a packed room.


The event started with a riveting performance by Music Band Indiva. This was followed by a Welcome address by Amit Goenka where he spoke about the fast evolving digital India that we live in today and the changing content consumption patterns and user insights that were the genesis of ZEE5.


This was followed by a breathtaking drone show that kickstarted the ZEE5 logo reveal by Amit Goenka and Punit Goenka.


Punit Goenka then took the audience through the fabulous content available on ZEE5 and gave the audience a preview of the huge width and depth of the content offering.


Archana Anand, Digital Head, ZEE5 India unveiled the highly catchy multilingual brand anthem with the tagline  “Apni Bhasha Mein Feel Hai” which brings to life the freedom of consuming content in the language of your comfort.


In attendance were popular celebrities like Swara Bhaskar, Badshah, Arjun Kanungo, Naveen Kasturia, Jonita Gandhi, Anshuman Jha, Isha Keskar, Suhail Jain, Tarun Nayyar, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and television actors like Krip Suri, Arjit Taneja, Sachin Shroff, Manish Goplai, Anita Date, amongst many others.

Viewers can watch content across genres in any of 12 languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Punjabi.


The content on ZEE5 is relatable, edgy, quirky and addictive, ranging from Sunny Leone's biopic 'Karenjit', thriller short-films like 'Mehmaan' and 'Sone Bhi Do Yaaro' to light-hearted, family-oriented web-series like 'Babbar Ka Tabbar' and 'America Mappillai'.  The platform will also showcase shows like 'Life Sahi Hai Season 2', 'Lockdown' and 'The Story' and over 30 Cine plays like Maa Retire Hoti Hai, Doll's House, Savita Damodar Paranjape and Agnipankh from Zee Theatre.


In a first for any OTT platform in India, and driven by the changing profile of the Indian digital consumer, ZEE5 viewers can also choose their preferred display language from among 11 languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Punjabi.


It is also the first digital entertainment platform in India to offer Voice Search, thereby instantly bringing entertainment into the hands of millions of Indians who are not so digitally savvy. Viewers can search for content by simply speaking the name of a show or movie.

ZEE5 is available across iOS and Android Phones, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick and Chromecast,. It will also be available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) to address patchy connectivity and low phone storage issues.


The ZEE5 Brand Anthem : With lyrics in 12 Indian languages, the song brings to life ZEE5's unmatched offering – the best of local and international content on one platform. The music has been composed by Amit Trivedi and lyrics have been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The video has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Keeping in mind the distinct audiences, two versions of the anthem have been created - one for the North market and one for the South, each catering to the specific market nuances for authenticity and connect.
