1. Modibo Keita
appointed as the Prime Minister of West African nation Mali. His
appointment was confirmed by Mali's President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.
Modibo Keita succeeded Moussa Mara who resigned under pressure from the
President due to the strife-torn condition of the nation.
2. India announced to provide Rs. 69 million as assistance to Nepal to launch an iodine deficiency programme across the country. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae handed over a cheque of Rs. 17.25 million as an advance payment out of total assistance of Rs. 69 million to the secretary, ministry of commerce and supplies, Nepal for launching the iodine deficiency disorder control programme (IDDCP).

10. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar handed over the first overhauled Su-30 MKI to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Nasik. It is the world’s first overhauled SU-30 MKI.
