1. International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected that rising from 5.8 percent in 2014, the Asian economy will grow at 6.3 percent in 2015 and 6.5 percent in 2016.

2. According to United Nations World Economic Situation and Prospects 2015 (WESP) report India will see a gradual growth acceleration with its GDP expected to reach 5.9 per cent this year and 6.3 per cent in 2016 while partly crediting the recovery to improved market sentiment after the new government took office and announced key reforms.

3. The information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry announced the appointment of Bollywood producer Pahlaj Nihalani as Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief to replace Leela Samson who resigned accusing the ministry of "interference, coercion and corruption".

4. Sixteen-year-old Doyel Dey of Kolkata has become the first girl from West Bengal to annex two National Billiards titles in the same Championship. She won in both the Junior and Sub-Junior categories at the BRC Gloster National Billiards Championship at the Bengal Rowing Club. In the Sub-Junior (under-19) Billiards Final, Doyel defeated Kaivalya V. of Karnataka 69-55 to annex the crown. In the Junior (under-21) Billiards Final, she beat Mariam Agnish of Tamil Nadu 67-46.

5. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' programme the Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd (ONGC) has signed an agreement with a consortium of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) to develop indigenous technology for improving the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons and other sources of energy. A Memorandum of Collaboration was signed by human resource development minister Smriti Irani and minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan. ONGC will bear all expenses of this programme.

6. Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Dehradun won the 10th Savio Cup All India Basketball tournament. In the final clash played at Don Bosco School court in Matunga, Mumbai, ONGC defeated Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Chennai 63-53.

7. India’s Billiards player Pankaj Advani routed his PSPB colleague Dhruv Sitwala 5-0 in a flawless display of potting en route to his seventh Senior National Billiards Championship at the Bengal Rowing Club of Kolkata.

8. Minister of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) M.Venkaiah Naidu launched ‘Management Information Systems (MIS)’ for regular online monitoring of progress in respect of skill development and enhancing livelihood opportunities for urban poor under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (DAY). This MIS has been developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) at a cost of Rs.2.24 cr.

9. NSIC a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India signed an MoU of Cooperation with Black Business Council (BBC) of South Africa for developing youth owned enterprises in South Africa in the presence of Shri Kalraj Mishra, Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises in South Africa.

10. The International Monetary Fund lowered its forecast for global economic growth in 2015 and 2016. According to IMF's World Economic Outlook report global growth is projected at 3.5% for 2015 and 3.7% for 2016.
