Makers of Star Plus “Mahabharat”, Swastik Productions Pvt Ltd also known as Swastik Pictures are now ready to telecast their new serial ‘Suryaputra Karn’on Sony Entertainment Television. Promo of this mythological show is being telecasted since past few days. As per a recent update the serial would start on 29th June 2015, at 8.30 PM, Mon-Thu on Sony TV. Producer of the show is Siddharth Tewary.
This serial is the journey of Karn right from his birth, to his adolescent days and to an era when even though being special he was an underplayed warrior and then his joining the wrong group of Kauravas and ultimately fighting the battle of Mahabharat.
The story will reveal that though being the son of Sun God, Karn has to undergo so much of difficulty and subsequently has to earn a status for himself on his own merits. After being abandoned by his mother Kunti, the little one is taken care by a “suth” family and thus he was also known as “Suthputra” or “Radhe-putra”. By birth Karn was gifted with Karn kundals and kawach which was bestowed on him for his protection.
The story depicts the life of an unsung hero of Indian history.

Earlier mythological serials have always shown the negative aspect of Karn. The only positive side of his character is “Daanveer” nature. On the contrary this serial opens with Karn’s childhood right from the day he is born and abandoned by his mother Kunti. The entire story revolves around Karn, the challenges and struggles faced by this great warrior and an overall view of how a “Suthputra” converts into “Ang Raaj Karn”. The story will showcase how a “right” man was on the “wrong” side!

Star Cast of ‘Suryaputra Karn’ Upcoming Sony TV Serial
Not much has been revealed about the star cast. However, some news retrieved from inside source have provided the following information:
- Avinesh Rekhi as Karn : Avinesh was finally roped by Siddharth Tewary after a lot of auditions. Avinesh has done quite a few TV shows and most of them are in a negative character. One of his character was that of Sultan Mohan Kundra in the Color’s show Madhubala: Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
- Vishesh Bansal as Kid Karn: This child actor has played few mythological roles and was seen playing Tripati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, little Buddha in the serial Buddha, Aditya Vyas in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and various others too.
- Gauhar Khan as Karn’s wife Vrushali: She is winner of Big Boss 7 and is a model turned actress.
- Mouli Ganguly as Karn’s mother Radhe: She participated in Nach Baliye Season 4 in 2008 and has enacted in various Tele series.
- Anand Suryavanshi as Karn’s father: He is a popular face in the Television Industry.
- Surendra Pal as Parashuram- Karn’s Guru : The one who has been played various important roles in most of the earlier mythological serials. He was Dronacharya in the 80s 'Mahabharat' and even donned the role of Prajapati Daksha in Life OK’s 'Mahadev'.
- Priya Bhatija as Kunti: She has done various TV serials as well as mythological serials as well.
- There were rumors that Aham Sharma, the one who enacted the role of Karn in Mahabharat serial, the one which was produced by Swastik Pictures, would be seen in the role of Karn in this serial. However, it is still an unrevealed secret which only be unveiled with time.
