The star Suvarna channel will air the new soap opera Niharika from Monday to Saturday at 8pm. The serial is directed by Vinu Balanja.
The serial is produced by R. Deepak Gowda under the banner of ‘Living Room Productions’.The dialogues are scripted by the famous dialogue writer Jogi with cinematography by Ravi and editing by Manu.
Niharika, the serial that went on air last week, is the first of its kind to hit the Kannada TV marquee and it deals with revenge as its central plot. “Most importantly, we are calling it the first of its kind because it is not another standard, run-of-the-mill kitchen drama,” says Ashok Namboodiri, business head of the channel.
“In this show, the protagonist is not someone who patiently suffers all challenges that are thrown at her and weeps silently,” he adds. Instead, the makers wanted to portray the inner strength of women and propagate the idea of women standing up for themselves.
“Our central character is a strong woman who fights back and is not willing to accept any evil. Revenge need not always be evil or manipulative; it can also be about standing up for what’s right and that’s a point we are trying to make with this show. Replete with superior production value, the show seeks to propagate women empowerment,” sums up Ashok.
